DreamPower Horsemanship has grown slowly and steadily since it was founded in 2002. This step-by-step approach has allowed DreamPower to serve more program participants each year since its inception. We invite you to join us in adding to our history and helping DreamPower to grow.


December 2007

During 2007, DreamPower serves 131 clients, including 97 children, teens and adults in the Equine Facilitated Psychotheraphy and Therapeutic Horsemanship programs. More than 100 volunteers support the organization throughout the year by donating their time to the hard work of maintaining the barn.


November 2007

DreamPower receives its first large grant. The Intero Foundation donates $10,000 to help provide services for at-risk children and teens in foster care, group homes and residential treatment centers.


September 2007

Local organizations step up to support DreamPower. The San Martin Lions Club sponsors DreamPower horse Rocky for one year. The South Valley Real Estate Investors Club donates $2,500.  Morgan Hill Kiwanis raise over $3,000 by hosting a spaghetti feed and raffle.


June 2007
DreamPower receives permanent approval from the IRS for non-profit 501(c)(3) status.

May 2007
DreamPower offers its first Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy seminars.


February 2007

DreamPower moves to a new location at California Stables in Gilroy, California and hosts a barnwarming and "Blessing of the Horses" that draws over 150 program participants and supporters. There are now ten horses working in the program.


December 2006
During 2006, DreamPower provides services to 91 clients, including 21 children, 43 teens and 27 adults ages 19 to 80.  One hundred and three volunteers donated over 4,000 hours of labor during the year.

August 2006
A tack shed and office trailer are donated, providing an indoor meeting space for groups, counsellng sessions and staff gatherings.

December 2005
In 2005, DreamPower provides services to 61 clients, including 28 adolescents, 10 children and 23 adults. Volunteers organize the first DreamPower fundraiser, which brings in $15,000 in donations.

April 2004
Garry Stauber becomes DreamPower's second NARHA Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor.

November 2003
DreamPower receives provisional approval from the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation, which allows the organization to begin soliciting donations. In 2003, a total of $3,850 was donated.

August 2002
After moving to San Martin, California for the purpose of beginning an Equine Facilitated Mental Health program, Martha receives certification from HARHA as a Registered Level Therapeutic Riding Instructor, acquires NARHA liability insurance and begins offering therapy sessions with one pony, three mini horses and one mini donkey.
